“And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, “The words of the prophets
Are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sounds of silence.” .. Paul Simon (1968)…
Strangely, I’ve not heard any planes today – me living just 20 minutes from London Heathrow – perhaps folk have heard our hospitals are all but full but hey you can still fly in!
Ha, I was going to use the word ‘kindly’ to begin the 4th line then thought it’s Saturday, I can’t be arsed! And yes, in any case, you’d be more than welcome here, though I wouldn’t want you to take the risk, the UK right now a place best missed – may 2021 be all it can be to you and yours, take care.
It’s my reaction to the UK government still allowing people to fly in to the UK untested, unchecked (even for temperature) – and even if/when we do get around to asking for written proof of a negative covid test given the panic buying of loo rolls the paper best held onto. As close as I get to having a rant nowadays – I’m usually quite mellow in my old age!
Aah. That makes sense. The US is even crazier with our virus-deniers and those who demand the “freedom” to infect whoever they want to. We’re having a few problems over here to say the least. ❤

Well, that’s the thing. I can’t even get in. When I see a list of things I need, I easily give up.

I can’t imagine why anyone would want to be here… the land that welcomes all variants.

For a lot of good reasons, politics being the least appealing one but alas, it seems everything comes down to politics nowadays.
I read a cool 6 word poem today that sums up the overall feeling of so many of us –
Brand new day…same old shit.

Clear, concise and to the point.

I was taken aback by your language today, young man. But I am sure you have good reason. In any case, we can still wish each other a great new year.

I’m afraid I don’t understand this, Eric. Is it anti-immigrant?
