Ever brief – my response to the photograph set as the March Speculative Fiction Prompt by D. Wallace Peach at Myths of the Mirror …
No rain no oceans
no arteries conceived
sand stormed still born
genetic traits deceived
God’s eye son’s sight
fake news she’s seen
Earth angel walking
set free believed
Oooh, Eric. I’m so glad you gave the prompt a try! I’m honored. And what a lovely poem. You outdid yourself. 😀 I can’t wait to share, my friend. Happy Friday!

Thank you – it’s a Happy Friday now I know you’ve seen and like it, Diana! It’s strange, I can only ‘see’ the figure as female yet my first write was as if a man – and then I gene-switched the last three lines which, for me, took the first write to the right place.

It’s a nice poem and a great response to Diana’s image prompt. Funny that you say you only saw the figure as female. I only saw the image as male.

Thank you, Priscilla – that’s the skill of Diana in her choice of prompt – the layering on of mystery and intrigue! Eric.

I read it more than once too. I love the rhythm — I found it comforting. I am going back at Diana’s to read again.
